I have a hotmail account I use to sign-in the Windows Messenger.  I then
have an email account in Outlook Express from my local ISP.  I have only
used one passport to sign into Messenger and Internet Explorer.

When I open the Manage Network Passwords screen there are 2 entries there.
One has my hotmail account listed next to (Passport)--the one under that
just says Passport.Net\*Passport.  What is the difference and why 2
accounts?

Greetings Lori,

The Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry is your saved Passport password.  When you save your
Passport, this account is automatically generated.  If you do not wish Messenger or Windows
to automatically sign you in with your Passport, simply delete this account.

Why are there 2 entries though?  One with my passport listed and another
without a passport listed.

I have noticed this on other XP installs that I have done as well.

Hi Lori,

One is the name itself and one is the saved Passport.  That's just how it works.
