Following an upgrade to Windows Messenger 5 and a
subsequent downgrade to Windows Messenger 4.7, I am
unable to sign in. However, my Passport works fine
everywhere else, including My MSN.

Any suggestions?

You could go to msn.com and download a version of msn messenger
