not a valid win32 application

When I try to download msn messenger I get an
error "...SetupDI.exe is not a valid win32 application."
What do I need to do?

Greetings Dazed,

You may simply just need to clean out your Internet Explorer cache.  To do so, click the
Tools menu, then Internet Options, then Delete Files.

if you have windows XP you have to download it for XP and 2000, and
install them both
