Jonathan:

I visited your site, Messenger Resources and have a question regarding
the opening of ports.

The area named "Solve A Messenger Problem step 6" you show the ip
address of 127.0.0.1

Is this the ip address of messenger or do we use the ip address of our
computer? I am using a DLink DI-604 4 port router.

I am having weird problems. One of my cousins has the same router as me
and we rarely have problems doing a Video Conference. however, i have
another cousin that has DSL but no router and the only way i can do a
video conference with him is to disconnect my router and plug the DSL
modem directly to my PC.

Appreciate any help

Greetings Joe,

That is for the built-in firewall and has nothing to do with routers; do not forward these
ports on your router.

You might want to check that you're using the latest firmware for the DI-604 and that UPnP is
engaged (I'm not quite sure if the DI-604 has an UPnP toggle or not):
