When capturing my analogue video to my PC which option should i choose for
the best quality results. Once I have completely edited this old footage I
want to burn it to a DVD. What is the difference between 'high quality vid
small ' and ' high quality vid large'? should i just use the reccommended
option.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I believe the difference is between the image dimensions.. To be sur
you should try both and check the difference! :

At the moment at least DV-AVI or AVI is the recommended file type.
There is a lot of debate on the subject at the moment due to some audio
glitches in Movie Maker but the recommendation remains the same, at least
for the moment. :-)
