I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC20 and cant seem to get audio captureed.  I have
it connected to my PC with the factory supplied USB cable.

I ran the useless software from Sony, (Picture package) and it created a
collage of video that included sound, but when I capture the same footage in
WMM, no sound....

Any have an idea on what I need to do to get sound so I can edit my video?

The firewire cable is not included with the camera but the DCR-HC20 does
have a firewire port on it so I recommend getting the cable and using that
to import directly to WMM. I don't use Picture Package but others have said
it is worthless but I suspect it is capturing the video as an MPG and that
is why you get no sound when you import it into WMM. Plus capturing through
USB to Movie Maker often causes the exact problem you are describing.

Thanks!   I will try the firewire cable.  Do you know if I need to uninstall
Picture package?

No you shouldn't need to but it is definitely a waste of hard drive space.
