Read many past posts and still  I cannot save my movie to desktop and then
eventually to disc. I have cut my movie down from 20 minutes to 3 minutes (
17.5 MB) and still cannot save it.  I have a new computer with approx. 125 GB
free space right now and have deleted much of the background activity.  What
am I doing wrong??????

Your answer may be in the following articles...
file compatibility may be the issue...

I have already read papa john and tinyurl info. and movie maker help topics
on this problem.  It does not seem that I have any memory quota problems.
Already uninstalled, reinstalled W media Player.  That did not help.  As I
mentioned my movie in only 17 MBs (3 minutes)and my current memory is at 125
GBs.  Any suggestions?  I am also a newbie and do not understand much of this
computer language, but am learning quickly.  Any other information would be
greatly appreciated.

I don't know what you read and am not
having fun trying to guess...but incompatible
source files may be at the heart of the issue.

Thank you for trying to help me with this problem.
I am not sure it is a conversion issue, since I have been able to save 4
short movies from WMM onto my desktop (approx. size 20-30 MBs) as WMV.  Do
you have any suggestions what I could try?

What are the formats of your source files?

The articles I previously posted for you should
offer some useful info.

Thank you for responding so quickly.
I have spent countless hours on this problem.
This is what I have:
XP2, movie maker 2.1, wmv, jpeg, mpg, 125GB free space, went from a 47MB
size to 17.5MB movie size and still will not save,
have just downloaded XP codec pkg. which did not help, reinstalled Windows
Media Player 11 which did not help
all files and folders are still intact in their original location and all
pictures are my own.
Thank you for your help.

Ok...you are using jpegs and mpgs
and the article clearly states that JPEG
and MPEG files can have compatibility
issues.
