I've accidentally recorded a TV program that was 4:3 format as 16:9 with the
result of the mpg being squashed in the middle and two black areas each side
of the screen.
Is there anyway that I can correct this and get back to correct 4:3 format
removing the black areas.
I have WMM, Nero Vision Express and TMPGEnc available. I also have a trial
verion of DVD Movie Factory with a few days left.

You can use freeware version of PIP Plus <www.rehanfx.org/pipplus.htm>
to convert the aspect ratio of the video. Post a screen snapshot of the
video if you need me to provide the xml code.
