I have a similar problem as Roger with the horrific sound problems..ever
since I bought my Toshiba Satellite last fall, all sounds coming from the
computer sound like they were recorded at high speed, or as though the
speaker/singer had a mouthful of helium.

The local Toshiba repair center replaced the speakers and system board to no
avail, as well as updating all of the drivers and slowing down the sound
acceleration, once again without any luck.  Toshiba will not replace my
computer unless I first leave it at an "Expert" Service center for a minimum
of 10 days which I can't afford to do right now as it's my work computer.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated as I have started taking a
course instructed through DVD and after about 15 minutes I'm ready to leave
the land of OZ!!!!

Thanks!

Prior to my post, I tried using the troubleshooter three times with no
success, including "decelerating the sound"; Toshiba thinks its a software
issue with Windows.

Reduce the hardware acceleration of your sound card.
