Hi All

My Dell Dimension 3000 has suddenly developed problems with it's re-writer;
it was  previously okay.  The tray has started to open automatically when I
log on, then won't close.  When I put a CD inside the re-writer and close it
(manually), it doesn't seem to recognise that there's a CD inside at all!
Any thoughts or possible remedies?  It's still under guarantee with Dell, I
was hanging on to their service line for ages, but got nowhere.  Many thanks.

If it's acting like that then it's probably in your best interest to remain
on the line and get it replaced by a qualified (grins) technician. It's not
too hard so they shouldn't break anything. ;)
