I hope SOMEONE out there can help me. When I try to burn CDs from WMP, it
says there is no drive detected. I have gone through all the steps that I
have found so far, including checking to see if my device is detected by
windows, if my device is supported by WMP, and rebooting/reinstalling. So
far, no luck. It worked last week, so why not now?

I've already tried all that. The registry was completely normal, I even
defragged my hard drive. The WMP says that it is burning to the drive, but
it stops and says "there are no items on the CD" doesn't matter if it's data
or CD. Same thing happens every time.

One other item to check is the BIOS to see if the CD-Rom drive is enabled
and/or detected.

Tried it. The computer recognizes the CD. Only WMP doesn't.

Download current (fresh) version, yours may be corrupt. Install it overtop
of the old version for it is designed that way. DO NOT delete old copy.

I've done that. It works for one burn, then I have to download/reload again.
It's very annoying.
How is it getting corrupted that fast? Nothing else is acting up and my
Norton says there's no virus.

You may have picked some malware/spyware or a virus. Run a complete
virus check, and............
