xp wont recognize mp3 player

i hope someone can help me here i have bought an mp3 player and in the user
manual it says running xp i dont need to install the driver,that my pc will
recognize it as removable storage but when i plug it in nothing happens and
somehow i cant install the driver either,please help before i go nuts,many

What is your MP3 player model? What does the manufacturer's web site say?

Please write sentences with punctuation: it makes readers go nuts trying
to figure out what you've written. If you want free help, make it easier
for it to be delivered.

mike the model is a proline digital mp3/wma player as far as i can see they
dont have a website
