Ever since I installed iTunes, the DVD burner has had problems.  I use
Nero 6 that came with the DVD, latest download version, to burn.

iTunes wants to stick it's upper & lower filters in place at launch.
So when I go to burn a DVD, I get a coaster.  So I remove the filters
and Nero starts working again.

This isn't a long term solution.  How can I get Nero and iTunes to work
together?  I have the latest version of iTunes.  Should I upgrade to
Nero 7 for $79?   That's more than the cost of my DVD burner.  More
than the cost of all the coaster DVD's.

Anyone have a long term fix?  Dump a reg file to import upon startup
maybe?
