PLEASE help me copy from my mp3

hi, first of all i don't know computers so i might not explain this right but
i'll do my best.  my philips hdd has broken but i can access the music while
linked to my pc. the guy on the support line told me that i could save my
music to my pc using windows media player. i can't figure out how but like i
said i don't really know what i'm doing.  there's about 2000 tracks that i
can't loose because they're downloads, borrowed cd's etc so Please please
help me!!

If you can access it then go ahead and (don't use WMP) open up the drive
with Windows Explorer (click My Computer and navigate to the drive) and just
select the folders or files and right click > select copy > go to a handy
dandy place in your computer's main hard drive and right click and select
paste.
