I have a large collection of classical music by a certain performer
I'll call "ArtistX".  About 30 CD's in all here.

The folder structure is:
E:\MyMusic\ArtistX\CD1\
E:\MyMusic\ArtistX\CD2\
E:\MyMusic\ArtistX\CD3\.... etc.

I wanted to add 4 CD's of his work but instead I made the error when
"Adding Folder To Library", of choosing "E:\MyMusic\ArtistX\".

So ITunes added the 4 CD's, plus all of the others that were already
loaded in ITunes.

Now I have a *boatload* of duplicate track entries in ITunes.

How can I tell ITunes to automatically remove the duplicates?

RLN, have you searched the iTunes Newsgroups for any of your problems?
iTunes is not a Microsoft product and the Apple.com website may be of
better assistance.

Postings there have come back saying that since I am using ITunes on
Windows, I'm supposed to be asking here, since they are saying "ITunes
is a Mac app, not a Windows app".

So that is why I posted here.

Oops, I meant to hit reply and instead sent a new email.

At any rate, you bring up your music library.  Click on View and then,
show duplicates.  It will bring up all of your duplicates in the music
library and you can delete them all at once.  I don't believe that this
option is available on the Ipod itself so, hopefully, you haven't
transferred your music as yet.
