after upgrading to vista .I can not get to any of my music or my pictures

Solution: Access Denied on My Documents in Vista
Check here first.  Make sure your network setting are set to PRIVATE network
and not PUBLIC.  Once you set back to PRIVATE network, the My Documents and
other subsequent folders are available again.  If no go, then here.

Windows Vista Help: Troubleshoot "access denied" when opening files or
folders.
Click on "I installed a new version.....etc."

tried what Byte said when i went to my  folders nothing was there;.so i went
to my backup files i could see my files but when i when  i tried to open my
backup it said could not open because of conflict with curtain windows which
is now vista
