Hello,

I have a music folder where I keep all the mp3 files. Each file was stored
with its title only, i.e. " Papa's got a brand new band.mp3."
Recently however, somehow each file has a 2 digit number appended. Now the
file is named, "01 Papa's got a ....mp3." Those numbers really screw up the
sorting of the files as I need them.
Any idea as to where these mysterious appendages come from and how do I get
rid of them without renaming 2,500 or so files.

Much thanks.

Then you need to have a big think about what exactly you were doing before
this problem started. Anything out of the ordinary ? Any software installed,
music or otherwise ?
