i have my pc on the same workgroup with as the people i
live with, and we are all on the same t3 connection.
however, for some reason, when people go to access my
shared files over the lan, it asks them for a password,
and i never set the password.  how do i reset it so i
know the password, or set it so there is no password
necessary?

Run the Network Setup Wizard on your computer to fully enable file
sharing.

If you've explicitly defined a password for the Guest account on your
computer, have them enter that password.
