new drivers?

i have just updated my computer from windows 98 to XP but
now can't connect to the internet - i think i need new
modem drivers that are compatable with XP and thought i
could download them but can't find them - can anyone
help!??!?

these are normlly obtained from the modem manufacturers
website. However it may depend on how old the modem is.
If the manufacturers have stopped supporting that
particular model (or don't have any drivers for it), you
may have no choice but to replace the modem with a newer
one that is compatible with XP. Before you go and buy a
new one, you may want to let windows search for another
one (from the modem properties). There's always a chance
that there is a similar one that will work

What type of modem do you have?

You should be able to find drivers at one of these sites:

http://www.driverguide.com/
