A new user with WinXP-Pro is experiencing a long delay at
Logon.

"Applying your personal settings." is displayed for over a
minute.

Other users, same workstation, no delay.

Are you using roaming profiles? Compare the profile sizes....

Not using roaming profiles.

Logon time has decreased to normal now that the Username &
Domain was added to the workstation in User Accounts by
the Admin.

Apparently the profile had been created on the workstation
by WinXP when the user logged-in to the Domain without
setting up the local profile first.

This usually indicates a DNS problem.  Is the client PC pointing only to the
domain DNS server for address resolution?
