I have set up a router on my three computers. Since then I am able to get to
the internet and get email, however, cannot connect to the news-server that
my isp provides.  I have tried using several applications , netscape news
reader, outlook news reader, and Grabit newsreader.

I was on the phone for over an hour with Belkin Customer service trying to
configure the router with no result.  Both techs I talked to didn't even know
what a news group is.

Thanks for your help.

Could it be your firewall blocking port 119. Most newsgroups use port 119.

William,

Yes, I acutually went online to the server under the firewall and tried to
set it up. Still didn't work.  I was using  port 119.

Thanks again,
Sharon

How are you talking to this one?
Try adding another news account eg news.microsoft.com and see if you have
the same problem with that one too.
If not then it may be a problem with the ISPs server.
