I would appreciate if anyone could let me know wether it is possible to block
a specific address (wesite) when using Internet Explorer.
I am aware that you can adjust the 'rating' to block certain content but
rarther than do this I would prefer to block a specific website so this
cannot be accessed using my browser.
Your help or advice is much appreciated.

If you have a recent version of IE you can use "Content Advisor" to block
websites. It is under Tools...Internet Options.....Content Tab in IE.

Instead of "Ratings" Tab, go to "Approved Sites" Tab and make the site
"Never" viewable.
