I hope I'm not showing total ignorance with this question (just partial
ignorance).  Is it possible to network a single machine hooked up to a router
using DHCP?  In addition there is more than one hard drive, partitions,
operating systems and user accounts.  I was wondering if I could set up a DMZ
with one of the user accounts.  So is this just not possible and the reason
obvious, or is it possibly possible and how would one do it?  Should I go
back to Networking 101?

Thanks for any help.

Hi

Yes it is possible to connect single computer to your router(Networking
arises if there are two or more machines to share resources) and get ip
adress from DHCP.I think it is possible for one of the user accounts to setup
DMZ,because DMZ is enabled in the router that is connected to your computer
but not on the computer.Once DMZ is enabled it is for the computer and not
for the user account.DMZ exposes your computer to world(through internet by
placing it oustide firewall . . .).Many routers will provide DMZ feature.

Adding a client to the DMZ may expose that computer to a variety of security
risks; so only use this option as a last resort.

How To Do:

Log on to your router , and in the DMZ settings enter the ip address of your
machine that is connected to the router

Hope you understand some thing atleast . . .
Thank you.
