Hi,

I have a folder on my XP desktop.  I want to share it with another computer
in my home network (2 PCs).  Since the folder is under "c:\Documents and
Settings", XP prevents the sharing by dehighlighting the whole "network
sharing and security" option.  Is there a way to achieve the sharing?  Your
help is much appreciated.

Tony,

Is your server (computer with shared data) running XP Home or Pro?  If XP Pro,
turn off Simple File Sharing, and use non-Guest authentication.  If XP Home, you
can setup shares on individual folders, but that's about it.  Folders on your
desktop are part of your personal profile, which requires administrative access.
Guest won't provide administrative access.
