I have 2 computers networked.  One is an XP and the other one is Win98SE.
I share the CD on my XP Computer with my 98 computer.
I can download a program from my XP onto 98, but when I try to run the
program on the 98 which needs the cd, I get an error message on the 98
computer that it needs the cd to run the program.
I know the 98 computer can see the cd but does anyone know how to to get rid
of the error message so the program will run on the 98 computer.
Thanks for any help.

Some programs will only read their data from a CD drive.  A shared CD
on a network acts like a disk drive, not a CD drive.

There are programs available that can make a disk drive look like a CD
drive.  I haven't tried them, but you can do a web search for "virtual
CD" to see the possibilities.
