need help with internet please!

Please can you help, I cant get into any chatrooms or play any online games.
My internet connection is good but it tells me cant connect to server or
applet failed. Im sure this is easy to fix, but Ive no idea how! Please help,

Can get to some hosts ("Internet connection is good") but not others ("cant get
into any chatrooms or play any online games") sounds like an MTU issue.
