Control Panel/CD Questions

Two questions:

1-Can anyone clue me in on how to make a shortcut icon to the Control Panel
on my desktop in XP?  I've always had one (in earlier versions of Windows),
but can't seem to find the program anywhere in XP to make the shortcut.

2-How do I turn off the auto-run function of the CD drive?  I want to be
able to leave my backup CD-RW in there most of the time without the
computer struggling to "Run" it everytime I start up.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Create a new shortcut to C:\Windows\System32\control.exe

Open My computer to show it; Right drag it out to the Desktop, taking
'Create shortcut'.   R-click that and rename to taste

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

Once installed  you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

Its My Computer - Autoplay - Drives you can uncheck the drive letter.
But be warned that this may interfere with getting at the disk in the
drive when you want to use it
