Is it installed correctly?
Did it work correctly in your friend's PC?
Do you have DVD decoding software installed?
Does it read a CD correctly?

it isinstalled correctly, it did work on his computer, I have installed
powerdvd.
It will read and write Cd okay, but as soon as a DVD disk is put in it makes
a whirring noise.
Windows XP sees it as a DVR-107D and says it is working correctly?
Any Ideas????
