hello all. when i start up my pc, i have windows xp, and when i log onto
my profile, it tells me that windows must be activated by microsoft and
asks me if i want to activate it. f i say yes, it goes to a screen that
says "windows is already activated. hen it returns back to the profile
screen, saves my settings and wants me to log in again. If i say no, it
just stays at the profile screen. Either way, it will never direct me to
my desktop. It will always return back to the profile screen. Please
help.

Possible Resolution:

Boot into "Safe Mode" by pressing (F8) during a reboot.

Go to Start > Run and type:  regsvr32 regwizc.dll  , and hit enter.
Then go again to Start > Run and type:   regsvr32 licdll.dll  , and hit enter again.

Apparently, and I can't say how, the above files became unregistered.
