in settings for system restore on internal hdd says maximum is 12% of
drive[6866mb] yet program shows over 10gb used todate and can restore back
to june on calendar. how can one remove the restore files for all points
before say sept 05.

You cannot restore before a specific date. You can delete all but the
last restore point under Disk Cleanup/More Options, but create a new
restore date if you do that. You can also change the % to a lesser
percentage like 8% to use less disk space.

Hi,
Reducing the amount disk space System Restore is set to hold restore
points can be used to remove of the oldest restore points. Reduce the
size until the desired amount of restore points is achieved.
