"User" Logon vs. "Owner" Logon

Since I bought my Gateway 820GM MCE, I've never had to log on as a User off
the Welcome screen but rather as Owner/Administrator.  There are no other
users so I never needed to create other accounts but now that I bought the
Linksys Extender, I'm wondering if this is the reason this new "User" can't
access all of the My Pictures, My Music folders.

I've tried putting them in Shared Pictures & Shared Music folders and even
in the MCX1 Music folders but to no avail.  Whenever I try to load new
pictures/music, the extender loses its connection to the MCE within a few
seconds.  I also get a brief pop-up on the extender from my DVD Region-Free
app that I installed - though it's located in C: Program Files.

Also, is there an issue with using Windows Media Player 10 and Media Center
Extenders?  It seems that both the MCE & MCX can "see" what is in WMP10 and
automatically tries to import the music folders (from my external USB drive
solely for music).  The MCE seems to access the folders okay but the MCX
disconnects from the MCE.

I'm almost at the point of reloading from the recover disc and starting all
over as though I just unpacked this mother!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this mystery for me!!!
