I loaded XP SP2 yesterday.  Now I can't boot.  I get the blue scree
stating that there is an infinite loop of file nv4_disp, and a sto
error of 0x000000EA.  I tried going into safe mode..but that doesn'
work either....Help!!!

Did you try booting to "last known good configuration"?

I don't get a chance.  Upon power up, the screen is blank, then the X
logo appears, with the scrolling line, blank again, until the blu
screen appears.

Power up.
Start tapping the F8 key rapidly just as soon as the first information
of any kind appears.
Keep tapping until the Windows XP Startup Menu appears.
Choose "last known good configuration" from the menu.

Good luck

I think you have an Nvidea video card. This error is generally created by
the Nvidea video driver or the card itself. Were you able to boot to the Last
Known Good Configuration like they suggested? You also might want to try
reseating the Nvidea video card.
