I am using xp with 4 user accounts, I have alwass been able to switch between each users without logging off but I just had a major problem with my computer today and everything was disabled. After getting my computer fixed so I could get back on line I am not able to switch between users. I went to user accounts and clicked use fast user switing but the box will not stay clicked. How can I fix this so I do not have to log off everytime when switching users? According to me, check these two things and let us know, if they help: 1. Click Start - Run 2. Type SERVICES.MSC 3. Here in the right side pane check the "Fast User Switching Compatibility" service. If it is set to disable then double-click on it. In the "Startup Type" automatic or manual and also click the Start button. If the "Use Fast User Switching" option under "Users" in Control Panel is gray out. Then it could be because of "OffLine Files" is being enabled. To disable them, goto Control Panel - Double Click Folder Options - Click Offline Files tab and uncheck the option.
