Windows XP, SP 2, O.E. I use Gmail as a spare email address and suddenly, I
cannot open Gmail. When I try to sign in, it says "Opening page
http://mail.google. . ." and then flashes "Done". These two options just
keep flashing back and forth and my email never opens.
Rather than bother you good people, I tried to join a Gmail forum to ask
this question and all I get is a run around, i.e., I have to sign in to get
information but I have to sign in to get information; around and around. I
need some help from you or a suggestion of a new group to contact.
Hello Inez,
I've have a Gmail account, and I go to www.gmail.com to get it.
Give this a try. Internet Explorer > main menu /Tools/Internet Options >
Security Tab/ click on green icon Trusted Sites/click Sites button.
Look very closely at line that says:
"Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" to
*clear* the selection.
(e.g. You want that to be un-checked (un-ticked)).
In the "Add this Web site to the zone:" field, add these entries to
list of "Trusted Sites" --
type
http://*.gmail.com (click Add)
Click OK. Apply changes to IE browser.
Post back with result / or questions.
