I have an optical mouse which, every once in a while, jumps across the
screen for no apparent reason.  Is there any kind of setting in XP someplace
that addresses this?

Thx

I had a problem like that until I changed my fancy mouse pad for a
plain-colored one. The pattern was causing the jumps. Maybe that'll help
you -- maybe not.

Open device mgr, expand the mouse tree to the hardware,R.click, properties,
advanced tab,increase the packets,maybe scroll 2 or 3 more from 100 to 130.
