Windows Forum / Windows XP / New Users / January 2007Activation??
I've read that when you install XP you will be asked to activate it. That never came up. I've read that you can choose to activate through the Start menu. It doesn't show anywhere. I can't find any place on MSN to activate. What should I be doing? There are some OEM versions, such as from Dell, where Windows XP is bios-locked, or linked to the particular system. Which was fortunate, because I had a disaster days later. I'm not at all certain what's up tho, because the installation that came with it when I bought it (used) was considerably different and much faster than the one I just installed. I think there's a lot of IBM stuff loading and running now. I wish I knew what I could remove.
