learn what is what; I did a pc audit on my
laptop,(Belarc Advisor), to see what exactly
I have on my system. Under Operating System
it says I have "Windows XP Home Edition Service
Pack 2 (build 2600)."

Before XP was released, test versions of it were released in a series
of "builds," each with a different number to identify that version.
2600 is the number of the final released version.
That's all it means. Everyone now has the same number.

Build 2600 is the latest released non- beta version of Windows XP. Later
build numbers are beta versions and eventually Microsoft will release
one as Windows XP SP3.
