I am having the same problem. Something is making VERY large mxav files. Almost everyday, and one was 19 GB in size. It basically fills up whatever is left of empty space on the hard drive. It appears to be coming from Fix-it from Avanquest or VCom although they deny it. Once it starts being made the computer comes almost to a halt, and the only way to stop is turn off the computer. I delete the files. They are in the windows/temp directory. And the computer behaves normally. I have yet to figure out what is actually creating the files. Next I will uninstall the fix-it utility program and see if that helps. Anyone have any suggestions ?

- Have you tried the same solutions, then, that Malke suggested? To quote
her answer from February:
"I Googled for "Mxav file" and got a fair amount of links, none pointing
to the same thing. One of the links showed Mxav files being created by
OnTrack's Fix-It. Basically, something you are running is creating these
files and only you can determine what that is. Of course, you should make
sure your computer is virus/malware-free, but I didn't get links suggesting
that this was malware.
"Try clean-boot troubleshooting to find the culprit. Once you know which
application is making the mess, you can deal with it by 1) getting rid of
it; or 2) contacting the application's tech support for solutions.

- Certainly, if you have reason to believe it's caused by Fix-it (an aside:
what makes you think that?), then by way of basic troubleshooting you should
uninstall it or disable any component(s) of it that start up automatically
with Windows.
