I upgraded to the free version of AVG 8.0.   With the 7.5 edition there was
an icon in the task bar.  The Icon is no longer there with this new edition.
Is there a way to put it there and have it stay there.    I can go to my
programs - AVG free 8.0 - and click on AVG Free tray Icon and it will send
an icon to the task bar.    But.....when I turn the computer back on the
Icon is gone.     Thanks for any help

Check the appearance of the icons in the System Tray, using the mouse to
roll-over them as a second check on ID. You may find one that is the new AVG
icon, but showing that AVG virus and spyware definitions are out of date.
The 'cure' is to open AVG from the desktop icon, select 'update', and let
AVG fix itself. When the first update is complete, the AVG System Tray icon
should appear in its new version 8 livery.

Cheers,
