printers donot work

Keep getting message that "printer spooler sub system app"
was shut down now no printer works. What is this about

This happened to me because I had turned the print spooler
off (I thought it was only for network computers and so I
wouldn't need it).  Start/Run/ then type    msconfig   and
press Enter.  Go to the Services tab and scroll down to
Print Spooler and make sure it's on.
