Defrag destroyed my harddrive

After running defrag on my laptop I've got a bunch of
files with CRC-error scattered around my harddrive. Are
there any way of fixing this problem?

I have windows xp with ntsf.

Why do you think that Defrag was responsible for the CRC errors?
