Hello bxf, This seems like a logical thing to do, and I have tried... I
uninstalled something called Nvidia GART Driver (whatever this is) but I
cannot locate any other TV tuner type devices.... I guess I should continue
looking for capture devices.. Any suggestion on what a capture device might
be, other than a TV card? Thanks.. Brian

Nvidia GART MAY be a component of your graphics (video) software. I'm
not sure removing it was a good idea. Still, if you have no new
problems then perhaps it was redundant.
A capture device would be "any" external device from which one would
import a video, e.g. a video camera. The thing is, from my own
experience I associate the term CROSSBAR with a TV tuner, but that
doesn't mean that other types of capture devices don't have a CROSSBAR
- I just don't happen to know much about this.
If there is nothing else relevant showing in ADD/REMOVE programs, have
a look in Device Manager. I'm on an Italian Win2K system now so I can't
confirm precise wording, but I think the category you want to look at
is SOUNDS,... There may be another category where capture devices may
be present, I'm not sure. Have a look at a few categories (NOT
DISPLAY/MONITORS/VIDEO or SYSTEM devices) and see if you can spot a
reference to an NVIDIA something or other that you cannot associate
with your graphics system. If you see one then you may want to
uninstall it. However, if you don't know what it is, it would be much
better to try to identify it before removing it. Otherwise, unless you
how to recover from a screwed up graphics driver situation, you want to
be careful!!!
