I am getting a messege that says,

Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced by
unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must retore the
original versions of these files.  Insert your  Windows xp professional
service pack 2 cd now.

I don't have a cd because i updated my  Windows xp professional service pack
online. What should I do?

1. Go to Start > Run and type:  CMD  , and hit enter.
2. In the Command Prompt window type: SFC /SCANNOW
and hit enter.  Have your Windows XP CD available.

After running SFC:

Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >
System Information > View > System History

if u have the sp2 upgrade file or cd u can actually unzip the upgrade
and point the sfc to that directory if u use ur old windows cd u might
get into some trouble. to unzip the sp2 installer use 7-zip or anyother
similar after installation select file > rightclick: extract files.

u might want to create a windows xp sp2 cd using ur windows xp and sp2
cd u can do that by using the tools and procedure mentioned in the
following article.

Hope this helps...,
