When I click My Computer, a little flashlight come up and it takes a while to
populate the drives.  It also takes a while to find drives when I try to
save.  Why is this happening?

Number of partitions.
Number of folders.
Number of sub-folders.
Failure to delete unnecessary files in OE.
Failure to "compact" OE after deleting those files.
Failure to EMPTY the cache in PAN, Agent or Xnews.
Failure to "remove orphans","repair the databse" THEN "compact" that
database in--- ThumbsPlus.  This would apply to PhotoShop and any
other "Image catalouging/editing" program.
Failure to defragment the hard drive.

Bottom Line: You need to seriously cleanup your partitions, then defrag
them.
