Do you mean that there are no existing System Restore points when you
use System Restore and choose the "restore my computer to ...."
option?

Has System Restore been disabled on your computer?   Use Control Panel
- System (or right-click on My Computer and select Properties) and go
to the System Restore tab.  Is the checkbox for "Turn off System
Restore on all drives" selected?  If so then that is the cause of your
problems.  Click on the checkbox to clear it, which will turn System
Restore on, and then click on Apply and OK to exist.

If that does not resolve your issues then see MVP Bert Kinney's System
Restore pages: http://bertk.mvps.org/index.html

Good luck
