I had the same problem, after some extensive tweaking and a Msoft security
update, not sure which created the issue( little of both possibly)

To fix, I set IE6 sp1 Internet options/security tab/custom level to the
medium default setting, and

uninstalled and reinstalled Java after a reboot.  

Java Plug-in 1.5.0_07

By the way stay away from any free 3rd part Quick Fix Application! If it
isn't a scam it probably has alterior motives / SPY!
