I recently had to do a system recovery using my HP recovery disks. I
originally upgraded from XP Home to HP Pro.(my son now is using the XP Pro in
Germany).
I made a backup which I have been able to retrieve however this Home edition
will not open it. Get the following: "This file does not have a program
associated with it for performing this action. Create an associated in the
folder options contol panel."
I have tried to no avail - could someone help!!!!!

Did you use the Windows backup program in XP Pro? If so, you're
going to have to install it in XP Home. Look in the
VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP folder on your XP Home installation CD
for a file named ntbackup.msi.

HOW TO: Install Backup from the CD-ROM in Windows XP Home
Edition

If that file is not included in your HP recovery disk, go to
this web site to download the installation file.

Installing the Backup Program on the Home Version

Direct download of ntbackup.msi

Good luck
