I am having difficulty resolving an error that is reported in the system
event log.  Source: Service Control Manager
Event ID: 7000
The Lexmark X73 MFP Scanner service failed to start due to the following
error:

The system cannot find the file specified.

I have reinstalled the Lexmark printer software and uninstalled it and the
error persists.

Any help?

Run regedit.exe and navigate to;
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\

find the subkey for the lexmark scanner driver and have a look at the
Reg_Expand_Sz string "ImagePath" value. Does the file exist at that
location?
