Hi,
Recently I uninstall and reinstall internet explorer 7. From then my hame
page being changed and no matter how I can't change to one I had earlier. At
last I included my earlier home page also in general tab( internet options).
Now it loads two home pages when I click IE although I don't prefer that.

Any one can help me on this.

1= Clear your caches, Internet files and delete cookies, then Open the Windows
Explorer and locate this path:
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc = look in the Right Pane/window for this
file called the HOSTS file but not the one with the extension *.SAM* leave
this as is.
If you can't see it try to click Tools >> Folder Options and select show
Hidden files and folder, then right Click the Hosts file and select open with
Notepad.
There see any reference for that site and remove it, you Hosts file will
looks like this:
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # Source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # Client Host
127.0.0.1 LocalHost
------------------------------------------
Remove all other References other than those above.
Download the Spybot from here:
http://www.safer-networking.org   for Spybot S&D
http://www.lavasoft.com   for Lavasoft SE home use only

2= If still no joy then proceed with the following:
First of all do you run these softwares on your computer:
= Zone Alarm = Spybot S&D in Tea Timer Mode = Spy Shierf = WeatherBug
= AdAware.... etc.
If yes, then proceed, Open the RUN command and type : msconfig click oK
On the Window click on the Start Up Programs Tab and uncheck the
pre-mentioned programs from starting up.
Then Reboot and see if you could change your Homepage.
If no joy then do the following:

Change the Home page in the following KEYS:
Click on *Main*
[+]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main.

and look in Right Pane/Window and Locate *Start Page* Right
Click on it and select Modify and enter the Data say for ex;
http://www.MyWeb.com as your Home page and then Locate also this *Local
Page* and Right Click on it and select Modify and put the following;
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm

The same with this KEY:
[+] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
On the *Start Page* change it into http://www.myweb.com

Leave the *Local Page* as it is if it have this string of Data:
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd={SUB_PRD}...... etc

Close the Registry and Open the IE Properties by Right Click on the Icon on
your Desktop and select Properties from the drop down list.
On the IE window click on Programs Tab and click on Manage Add-Ons, in the
Add-Ons window Disable Add-Ons for Non-MS IE Add-Ons (ZA, Safer network..etc)
