been gaming lately, and noticed that game lags at specific intervals. I took
a screenshot of the event, and have removed virtually every process running,
with the exception of those that will not allow you to, or cause instant
shutdown of comp. For info, I also stopped game, but the tempo of the lagging
stayed constant. Anyone know how to isolate the nasty culprit or how to
remove more of the leftover processes? thanx.

Install EVEREST to check the CPU temperature, if temp is over 65Centigrade,
check the box has enough cooling, that's intake and outtake fans. Pentium 4
and newer processores will automatically slow down if it gets too warm. I
think the throttling kicks in around 70C depending on model..

Check that the power supply gives sufficient power... for gaming, 450 watt
power supply is the lowest reccomended.

Scan your system for trojans & spyware, and delete Internet Temp files and
cookies.

Install: Adaware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy, CWShredder, The Cleaner.
